Cassie Sauer is the CEO of the Washington State Hospital Association, and one of the more quietly influential figures in Washington State health policy.
In this interview, she talks about the challenges from HR 1 on hospitals. She also highlighted how the work requirement eligibility issue just got a little easier for Washington State because of our high minimum wage.
“You have to either work 80 hours a month, or make $580 a month, which is the federal minimum wage times 80. In Washington State, you can reach that $580, depending on where you live, but around 30 hours a month… I think we all need to change our language when we’re talking to enrollees.”
